Lunch at Lokkee’s

For our October company lunch, we set off for Lokkee located at Plaza Singapura.

An East meets West fusion restaurant, its menu is based on American Chinese take-out food. But fret not, they are made from fresh ingredients and are absolutely delicious – a far cry from those found overseas in cosmopolitan cities, like London and Sydney.

Upon entering the establishment, we realized that this was not a typical Chinese restaurant that’s stuffy and serious. In fact, its cheekiness was evident everywhere. From paper cuttings that feature Justice League and Power Rangers as well as wet wipes wrapped in a condom-like package, we were pleasantly surprised and easily entertained by these creative and witty touches present throughout the restaurant.

When the dishes were served, everyone whipped out their phones to photograph or video them. After all, who can resist a flaming pineapple and a misty bak kwa bacon salad?

Though we were seated at our own tables, we couldn’t help but sneak off to other tables to see what other food was ordered and of course to sneak a few bites in.

Needless to say, we were all stuffed at the end. But with such delicious food, who can complain? Here’s a requisite photo of us with our protruding bellies and satisfied smiles.
