Cebu Team: Christmas Party 2024

Our Christmas party this year was nothing short of magical, held at the Tarima Staycation House and Cabana in Binongkalan, Catmon, Cebu. The place was a peaceful retreat surrounded by lush greenery and the soothing sounds of nature. Though the journey up the steep stairs to the house was a bit challenging, we all managed (some of us a little out of breath, but worth it!).

A Feast to Remember

To make the most of our time, we skipped the hassle of cooking and ordered a delicious food package that was ready upon arrival. The spread was a dream:

  • Whole lechon
  • Braised pork
  • Fish fillet
  • Chopsuey
  • Lumpia
  • Spaghetti
  • Buttered shrimp
  • Cordon bleu
  • Maja blanca
  • Mixed fruits for dessert

Of course, the first thing we did was EAT! With full tummies and happy hearts, we settled into our rooms. The staycation house had 4 cozy rooms, one uniquely located underground. The second-floor terrace offered a breathtaking view of the sea, and we soaked in the fresh air and serene vibes.

Games and Fun Galore

Once energized, we kicked off the program with the high-energy game “Don’t Pop Me”. It was chaotic, hilarious, and left us all breathless as we protected our balloons while trying to pop others’. After expending so much energy, we calmed things down with a brainy game called “Tumpakners”. Teams paired up to match answers for given categories, with the winning pairs snagging coveted gift certificates!

Next was the much-awaited Manito Manita gift exchange, full of surprises and laughter. Many of us received exactly what we wished for, adding to the joy and excitement.

Dinner and Karaoke

Dinner featured the ultimate Filipino leftover dish—paksiw na lechon, which is a Filipino dish that combines the crispy, flavorful goodness of lechon (roasted pig) with a tangy, savory sauce. After another hearty meal, we turned up the fun with karaoke. Off-key singing and dance moves kept us laughing until we couldn’t sing another note!

Night Swimming & Heartfelt Talks

As the night grew calm, we indulged in peaceful night swimming under the stars. Our voices echoed through the stillness as we shared stories, dreams, and laughter. By midnight, we called it a night, feeling both exhausted and fulfilled.

Morning Bliss & Farewells

The next morning started with a refreshing swim and a unique experience—a floating breakfast courtesy of the management. Naturally, we took tons of photos before packing up. We cleaned up (especially the kitchen) and practiced for our TikTok entry, trying to perfect synchronized moves for “Ice Cream Yummy.” After countless takes and laughter, we finally nailed it!

Seafood Finale

Before heading home, we stopped for lunch at a restaurant famous known for its seafood. The flavors were divine, and we couldn’t resist taking home some of their special appetizers: tamarind and pastillas.

A Bittersweet Goodbye

The memories made at Tarima Staycation House will forever be etched in our hearts—a celebration of laughter and togetherness.

Here’s to more unforgettable gatherings in the future!
